In November, the United Nations Online Network in Public Administration and Finance (UNPAN) released works by two Park University faculty members on its web site at www.unpan.org.

Jerzy Hauptmann, Ph.D., professor emeritus of political science and public administration, wrote the paper "Toward a Theory of Civic Engagement" for Park University's International Center for Civic Engagement (ICCE). The article can be viewed at http://unpan1.un.org/intradoc/groups/public/documents/icce/unpan021794.pdf.

Brian L. Hoffman, Ph.D., professor of biology and mathematics, delivered the presentation titled "Avian Influenza: The Next Human Pandemic?" on Nov. 17 in the McCoy Meetin' House on the Parkville campus. His presentation remarks can be viewed at http://unpan1.un.org/intradoc/groups/public/documents/icce/unpan021862.pdf.

These materials were provided to the United Nations by the ICCE, which was selected in October as an "Online International Center" of UNPAN.

UNPAN is a global network of institutes and associations that shares knowledge, experiences and best practices in sound public policies, effective public administration and efficient civil services.

Park faculty interested in sharing relevant publications with UNPAN's world-wide audience should contact ICCE Director Erik Bergrud at erik.bergrud@park.edu.
