Diana Boyd McElroy, Ph.D. is Park's dean of student life.  She holds a B.S. in psychology and religious studies from Kansas Wesleyan University and an M.Ed. in student personnel administration, and a Ph.D. in adult and higher education administration, respectively, from the University of Oklahoma.  Dr. McElroy's dissertation is titled, "The Impact of Outside-the-Classroom Involvement on the Cognitive and Affective Development of Community College Students."

McElroy is a certified faculty member of Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Development Studies Program.  She is published in Campus Activities PROGRAMMING: "The Importance of Extracurricular Activities as a Retention Tool on the Community College Campus."

McElroy is ready to present on the topics of best practices for staff at small campuses, the importance of co-curricular involvement for college students, and leadership development.  The latter includes the following subtopics: team-building, communication, recruiting and retaining volunteers, ethics of leadership, meeting management, delegation, diversity, planning events, and publicity.
