Week 5!  Good luck on your midterm exams!

 

As we approach the start of the Online Spring 2 term I'd like to make a special note of some NEW Online courses for the Spring 2 term. Below are the course descriptions for the new Online courses. 

 

*** I'd like to make an important request.  If you know that you are going to need to work with your Enrollment Counselor prior to the start of Spring 2 classes, please do so now - don't wait!  The Enrollment Counselors become VERY busy at the end or beginning of a term.***

 

BI101 - Concepts in Biology

Course Description: Biological Concepts offers an overview of the fundamental facts and principles of modern biology. The course is designed for the non-science student who wishes to gain an understanding of current biological concepts and their relevance to problems of human society. Emphasis will be on life, its origin, chemistry, energy transformations, reproduction, genetics, evolution, and ecology.  At home laboratory experiences are included. 3:3:4 (Description from Carol Sanders, Developer)

  

CJ231 - Introduction to Law Enforcement

Course Description: This is an introduction to the law enforcement segment of the criminal justice system, with an examination of the history and development of law enforcement, especially in the United States. The various job and career opportunities in law enforcement will be reviewed. 3:0:3 (From catalog 2005-2006)

 

  PS121 - Human Growth and Development

Course Description: A discussion of the physical, social and physiological changes occurring during the life of the individual from conception to death. Emphasis is placed on the similarities and differences of the various age groups and the specialized needs of each. 3:0:3 (From catalog 2005-2006)

 

CA516 - Qualitative Methods of Communication Research (Graduate Level Course)

Course Description: A study of the processes used by social researchers to describe human communication. The class will emphasize ethnography, field research, and interviewing for data gathering and analysis. (From catalog 2005-2006)

 

 **CS140 Requirement:  Please note:  If you are taking this course, you will need to have Microsoft Office 2003 software (student or professional version) to take the class online.
