Park University

Park University incoming freshmen will be "Helping Our Fellow Americans - One Freshman at a Time" to raise money for hurricane relief efforts.

This nation-wide fundraising drive will be Sept. 12-16, and will involve Park's students and faculty members at its 42 campus centers located in 21 states. The donations will be directed to Heart to Heart International, a global humanitarian organization based in Olathe, Kan. This effort underscores Park University's commitment to civic literacy and service through its general education courses.

"The unfortunate and horrific events in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi demonstrate an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and alumni to reaffirm our heritage of responsible citizenship," said Tim Westcott, history professor and facilitator of Park relief efforts. "Park University has a 130-year tradition of contributing to the solutions that best represent humanity."

Heart to Heart serves to inspire, empower and mobilize individuals to serve the needs of the poor in their communities and around the world.

Monetary donations may be sent to Park University, box #65, 8700 NW River Park Drive, Parkville, MO, 64152.
