Vice President for Distance Learning Tom Peterman, Ph.D., practices giving chest compressions
Faculty and staff at the Parkville campus recently learned the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, otherwise known as CPR.

The participants received a four-hour stand-alone course on July 21 from the Parkville Police Department. The training provided information on:

* Performing CPR and improving the chance of survival in victims with life-threatening emergencies
* Learning an individual's role in the "chain of survival"
* Recognizing four life-threatening emergencies in adults
* Recognizing signs of life-threatening emergencies in infants and children
