Debra McArthur, faculty member and director of Academic Support Services, recently had her nonfiction book for young readers, "Raoul Wallenberg: Rescuing Thousands from the Nazis' Grasp," released by Enslow Publishers of New Jersey.

Intended for high-school aged (and older) readers, this book is part of Enslow's "Holocaust Heroes and Nazi Criminals" series. The book tells the story of Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat who worked in Budapest to save Hungarian Jews from the Nazis in 1944-45. It features the personal accounts of many holocaust survivors, including a local couple who worked with the Jewish Youth Underground in Budapest and cooperated with Raoul Wallenberg's rescue operation there.

McArthur's other published books include "The Dust Bowl and the Depression in American History" (Enslow Publishers, 2002), "The Kansas-Nebraska Act and ‘Bleeding Kansas' in American History" (Enslow Publishers, 2003), and "Desert Storm: The First Persian Gulf War in American History" (Enslow Publishers, 2004).
