HSPA faculty present at management conferenceBy - September 3, 2008 - 8:38 amEmail this article | Printer friendly page Four faculty members from Park University's Hauptmann School for Public Affairs made presentations at a symposium during the Academy of Management annual meeting, Aug. 9, in Anaheim, Calif. The title of the symposium was: "Our Responsibility as Leaders and Educators in Meeting the Challenges of the Unscripted Future." Making presentations (along with the title of their presentation) was: Laurie DiPadova-Stocks, Ph.D., dean of the HSPA and professor of public administration, "What is the Unscripted Future and its Role in Management and Leadership Education?"; Kay Barnes, distinguished professor for public leadership, "What Strategies can be Identified for Leadership Skill Development and Shaping the Unscripted Future?"; John Jumara, Ph.D., associate professor of management and public affairs, "What Frameworks Identify the New Realities as Expressions of Chaos and Complexity Theory in the 21st Century?"; and Don Wise, HSPA fellow for nonprofit leadership, "What Technologies are Available to Bring Together Learning Communities to Address the Unscripted Future?" In addition, DiPadova-Stocks served as an invited participant at the All Academy session honoring Alfred Chandler and the session on "Consortium Approaches to Service-Learning: Empirical Evidence, Propositions and Dreams Becoming Reality." |
