Kudos sent to Park enrollment counselor, faculty member

Mark Robison, an enrollment counselor in the Park Student Success Center, as well as Susanne Nishino, Ph.D., Online adjunct instructor of
psychology, were both recently acknowledged by a student for their efforts.

The student, Joe Glazewski, a sophomore social
psychology major, said that he needed help with enrolling in his first class at Park and that Robison was "absolutely fantastic in answering any and all questions. He was great at doing exactly what his title infers -- counseling!" Glazewski added that through Robison's advice and guidance, his first experience with Park was a pleasure.

The student also thanked Nishino for making his first Online course "challenging, yet insightful," adding, "If this is any indication of how Park handles all of its Online teachings, I am confident that once I have completed my degree, I will be all the wiser for having done so."

Monchusie participates in technology session

David Monchusie, chief information officer,
Information Technology Services, was one of three speakers for a campus technology webinar in early May. Monchusie, along with representatives from Rave Wireless and Sprint Nextel, spoke on the benefits of a connected campus at higher education institutions, focusing on how students, faculty and staff can better connect and communicate.

Green tip of the week

Planting a tree today will keep you nice and cool in 10 or 20 years. So while you're waiting for that sapling to grow, consider planting bushes and vines, which take less time to fill out. Invest in a green roof, which can reduce a building's air conditioning bills by 21 percent. An easier solution -- place an awning over your air conditioning unit. The shade can increase your energy savings by 10 percent. For more information and additional tips to lead a "green life," visit
