Laura Lane, executive director of the Professional Development Center, Sapna Gupta, Ph.D., professor of Chemistry, and Steven Youngblood, assistant professor of Communication Arts are the representative members of the Park University. During their visit to Brazil, the group met with leaders from the Faculdade Boa Viagem (FBV) in Recife, Brazil and Faculdade de Ciencias Humanas (FACHO) in Olinda, Brazil to discuss potential partnership agreements. "One of the most important items on our agenda in Brazil was helping to establish collaborative programs with two Brazilian universities," said Youngblood. "The result of the meeting was a timetable for the Park-FBV partnership that includes a schedule for team-taught Online classes, visits, exchanges, and Online Portuguese language classes for Park students. The Park representatives also traveled to Recife to assist the Pau Amarelu (Yellow Wood) Community, a Christian outreach organization that runs a number of community-betterment projects, including a wide range of educational and support programs for the surrounding impoverished community. During their visit, they held sessions on teaching adults, health awareness training, and how to organize and teach workshops.
