Park University has been ranked No. 10 in the nation for the quality of its online programs, according to rankings released on Jan. 10 by the Guide to Online Schools. Park is the only school based in Missouri or Kansas ranked in the top 15.
The data/statistics used for the rankings were compiled from the National Center for Education Statistics, the primary governmental department responsible for gathering education-related data. The criteria the Guide to Online Schools used included (in order of weighting): recommendation rates; cost of tuition and textbooks; retention rates; repayment rates of student loans and accreditation, as well as student reviews.
Park, which was one of the first institutions in the world to establish fully-accredited online learning programs in 1996, has developed more than 200 courses and offers more than 500 sections each term to more than 14,000 of its 22,600 students nationwide. The University has 40 campuses across the country, with many students taking their load of courses totally online or with a blend of traditional face-to-face courses.
The online programs accommodate hectic schedules and family obligations, and bring an added "green" benefit by reducing travel. Park's online courses are interactive and student-centered, and taught by highly qualified, experienced faculty. In addition, Park offers accelerated course scheduling with eight-week terms that start five times each year -- meaning many of its online degree programs can be completed in two to three years. Also, Park's online degree programs are consistently rated as a "best buy" by the consumer advocacy group GetEducated.com.
