NEWS RELEASE
Park University and Barstow (Calif.) Community College have partnered together to increase educational opportunities for students at the community college and in the Barstow area.
Park now has an office and staff at the BCC campus to help guide students needing to finish their degree. Students can earn their bachelor's degree by attending Park classes at the Barstow Campus or they can pursue a bachelor's or master's degree through Park's online offerings.
"Park University already has a long-standing presence in the Barstow area, where it currently serves military and community students at its Barstow Marine Corps Logistics Base and Fort Irwin campus centers," said Park President Michael Droge, Ph.D. "We are pleased to have this additional opportunity to serve the expanded Barstow community at this beautiful BCC location. Park has much to offer through its excellent academic programs and its affordable tuition."
Park's degrees at BCC are part of a 2+2 program, with an associate's degree from the community college satisfying requirements for the first two years of a bachelor's degree from Park. Bachelor degrees offered face-to-face include criminal justice administration, management, social psychology and education. Several options within each major allow for special concentration within those fields.
"We're excited to be partnering with Park University to provide Barstow residents with a means to obtain a quality education within their local community," said BCC President Thom M. Armstrong, Ph.D.
Arely Moreno, a lifelong resident of the Barstow area, is serving as the campus center director. For more information about the partnership or program offerings, contact Moreno at arely.moreno@park.edu or (760) 252-7275, or visit www.park.edu/barstowcc.
