Roasterie’s O’Neill Featured Lecturer at Global Entrepreneurship Week at Park

Danny O'Neill, owner and "bean baron" of The Roasterie Inc., will speak on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Park University about his business and his international experiences and travels as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The lecture, part of the Park University School of Business Lecture Series and held in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week Nov. 16-22, will begin at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Meetin' House, located on the University's Parkville Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

O'Neill started his Kansas City-based company, The Roasterie, in the basement of his home in November 1993. He is a sought-after expert in the coffee industry, and has been judging cupping and barista competitions all around the world since 1995. O'Neill is a member of Park University's Board of Trustees.

The lecture is sponsored by Park's International Business Perspectives course, taught by Michael Fitzmorris, assistant professor of international business, and the Park University World Student Union.

Park University is among more than 1,000 partners, including universities, nonprofit organizations, successful entrepreneurs, government agencies and corporate sponsors, signed up to support and initiate activities for Global Entrepreneurship Week/USA 2009. The week will engage young people in 87 countries around the world in activities designed to help explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
