The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Colloquium was held October 23 in Bloomington, Indiana, to conclude the three-year Carnegie “CASTL” project dedicated to promoting the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). The event convened institutions from around the world to present research highlighting the institutional progress of each Carnegie Affiliate.  Park University has been a Carnegie Affiliate since 2007, represented by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) team of Amber Dailey-Hebert, Jean Mandernach and Emily Donnelli-Sallee.

The CETL team presented a poster session outlining the programs available to support SoTL at Park University and participated in cross-institutional collaborations with 17 institutions dedicated to advancing SoTL on their campuses since 2007.  Further, Dailey-Hebert presented with Affiliate colleagues on "The Attraction, Value, and Future of SoTL: Affiliate Perspectives and Beyond" and accepted the leather-bound certificate presented to Park University from the Carnegie Foundation for its contributions to the scholarship of teaching and learning.  Fewer than 100 certificates have been issued by the Carnegie Foundation in the past 10 years, and the distinction is a true honor to the institution and its faculty.
