Park employees can receive their 2009 W-2 electronically

Park University employees who previously signed up to receive their W-2 electronically or a paper copy of their W-2 through the Park University website will need to sign up again via ADP iPay, according to the University's
Payroll Department. This is a slight inconvenience, but it is a simple step that can be completed when checking your pay statement.

For instructions on how to register to elect the way you receive your W-2 for 2009 or to register for iPay if you have not already done so, visit
www.park.edu/human/payroll.aspx. After registering, please take time to look at your pay statement to ensure that your information is correct, such as the spelling of your name, address and Social Security number.

Advantages of ADP iPay include:
• Employees can view and/or print their earnings statement (pay stub) and/or W-2 at their convenience via a secure online website.
• Online delivery provides access to the W-2 statement earlier than the traditional mail process and your pay statements can be viewed prior to the pay date.
• Online delivery eliminates the chance that the W-2 statement will get lost, misdirected or delayed during delivery.
• Employees may print multiple copies of pay statements or W-2s as needed for personal needs, such as mortgages and loans.
• Employees are contributing to the University’s cost savings.

Questions should be referred to the
Payroll Department at payroll@park.edu or (816) 584-6413.

Since 2007, the articles citing Hageman's paper represented localities in Brazil, Iran and Spain, by authors from Austria, Brazil and Spain.

Williams, biology students help clean Missouri River

For the past three years, Don Williams, Ed.D., associate professor of
biology, has encouraged Park University students in his BI 111 (Environmental Biology) class to volunteer for Missouri River Relief, a grassroots, volunteer and equipment-based organization dedicated to reconnecting people to the Missouri River through hands-on river clean-ups and education events. This year, two students, Kody Brownfield, a senior majoring in information and computer science, and Kristin Kiehl, a sophomore majoring in fine arts, and their friends joined Williams, along with 500 others from the Kansas City area, to scour the banks and sand bars of the "Mighty Mo" for trash along Kaw Point Riverfront Park in Kansas City, Kan. In the photo, Williams stands behind Brownfield, far left, and Kiehl, middle right, and their friends.

New sculpture and drawings exhibit opens in Campanella Gallery

An exhibit featuring iron sculpture and large drawings by Michael Davidson Wickerson has opened in the Campanella Gallery on the Parkville Campus through Wednesday, Nov. 25. The exhibit, "Cupola Cart: Casting Iron," will run through Wednesday, Nov. 25. A reception for Wickerson is set for Sunday, Nov. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Gallery.

Wickerson, a Canadian artist, has exhibited throughout North America since 1994 and in Europe since 2002. In 2005, Wickerson's installation, "This Equipment Belongs to the Earth," was displayed at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center in Kansas City, and his aluminum casting "House of the Sun" was recognized in Spaces magazine in spring 2006. For more information about Wickerson, visit

Green tip of the day

This Halloween, create a spooky mood and save power by turning off the lights, and enjoy the glow of the jack-o'-lantern. Conventional candles are made from petroleum-based paraffin wax, so light your (locally grown and organic) pumpkin with soy candles. Soy is a renewable resource that produces less soot than paraffin, so your little ghouls and goblins can breathe easier. For more information and additional tips to lead a "green life," visit
