Faculty and staff at the Parkville campus recently learned the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, otherwise known as CPR.

The participants received a four-hour stand-alone course on July 21 from the Parkville Police Department. The training provided information on:

* Performing CPR and improving the chance of survival in victims with life-threatening emergencies
* Learning an individual's role in the "chain of survival"
* Recognizing four life-threatening emergencies in adults
* Recognizing signs of life-threatening emergencies in infants and children
