Park University Spring 2013 List Of Kansas City Area Graduates Announced

Park University held its Spring 2013 Kansas City Area Commencement ceremony on May 11 at the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence, Mo. The University had 580 students eligible to participate in the ceremony -- 379 undergraduates received their bachelor's degree, 170 graduate students received their master's degree, 13 students received their associate degree and 18 students received graduate or undergraduate certificates. In addition, 64 associate degrees in nursing were conferred during the Ellen Finley Earhart Nursing Program's pinning ceremony on May 10 on the Parkville Campus.

Park University and Coro Kansas City have announced the 2013 class of the Coro Kansas City Internship in Public Affairs, a partnership with the University's Hauptmann School of Public Affairs.

Park University Receives "Art Works" Grant From Fhe National Endowment for the Arts

Park University has received a $7,500 National Endowment for the Arts "Art Works" grant to partially fund the University's "Poetry @ Park" initiative that was developed in 2010 as a part of the University's Missouri Arts Council grant-supported Ethnic Voices Poetry Series by Virginia Brackett, Ph.D., assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, associate professor of English and director of the Degree with Honors program.

Park University's International Center for Music Season Finale Concert to Feature Sayevich, Lisovskaya-Sayevich

The International Center for Music at Park University will hold its final concert of its 2012-13 concert season on Friday, May 10. The concert will feature violinist Ben Sayevich, Park professor of music/violin, and his wife, pianist Lolita Lisovskaya-Sayevich, ICM collaborative pianist. The concert will be held in Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the University's Parkville Campus starting at 7:30 p.m.

Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General Selected to Keynote Park University's May Commencement

John E. Miller, a retired lieutenant general who served nearly 35 years in the U.S. Army, will provide the keynote address at Park University's Kansas City Area May Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11. The ceremony will be held at the Community of Christ Auditorium, 1001 W. Walnut, in Independence, Mo., starting at 11 a.m.
